----------------------------------------------------------------------

Buffy sat on her bed, chatting on the phone to Willow.
"A batchelor auction? Will, you're gay. You've got Tara. Why do you want to go to a batchelor auction?"
Buffy laughed at Willows answer
"Will, I don't need a boyfriend. And if I did, I wouldn't buy him."
The witche's laughter could be heard down the phone and Buffy giggled
"Sex Slave? You are so bad. Is Anya going?"
Buffy nodded.
"And Xander?! Is he looking to get himself a new boyfriend?"
Willow giggled again, and Buffy smiled.
"Okay. We'll go. It'll be fun. I'm not buying though. See you tonight then."

--------------------------------------------

Buffy spent a few hours that evening picking out something nice to wear, but not nice enough to look like she wanted to pick up a guy at the auction.
She held two dresses up and looked at each of them, bringing them in front of her, and experimenting.
"I'd go with the blue one, Slayer."
Buffy looked at her window, and pulled her bathrobe tighter around her.
"Spike. Why are you on my windowsill? How long have you been there?"
Spike swung his legs inside the room, and stood up.
"I came to have a little marshmallow chat with your Mum. I saw you were here, and decided to come and chat with my mortal enemy. Why aren't you patrolling?"
Buffy rolled her eyes, and shrugged

"I'm not patrolling tonight. Giles is going to do a sweep. I'm going shopping"
Spike looked puzzled and slightly amused.
"You're going shopping? At night?"
Buffy unclipped her hair, and sat down at her dressing table, and began brushing it.
"An auction. A batchelor auction at the Bronze"
Buffy looked up at Spike and wiggled her eyebrows. Spike raised his eyebrows at her in response.
"I could say something like 'Are you really THAT desperate?', but I'll just keep quiet."

Spike grinned and lit a cigarette.
Buffy sighed
"I'm not buying. I'm window shopping."
Spike laughed, and Buffy stood up and moved towards him.
"What? What's so funny?"
Spike stopped laughing and straightened his face.
"The Slayer. Chosen one. Going out to ogle boys. Seems almost... twisted."
Spike smirked and Buffy shook her head.
"Shut up, Spike. Now, you said the blue one right?"
Spike's eyes widened.
"I am not helping you choose what to wear, pet. I don't need to add personal wardrobe assistant to my increasingly nancy boy resume"
He opened a draw near him and pulled out a lacy black bra.
"Though if wardrobe assistant involves this little number, I might be swayed"

Spike smiled suggestively at Buffy, and she couldn't help but laugh.
"You're a pig, Spike."
She snatched the bra, and threw it in the draw again, slamming it shut.
"Choose. I can rely on you to make a cutting remark if the dress looks slutty. So choose."
Spike looked at them and shook his head.
"To be honest, they are both horrible."
Spike shrugged his duster off, and took the dresses from her hands, put them back in her wardrobe, and began rifling through her clothes.
"So what impression are you trying to make?"
He held out a frilly floral dress
"Is it good little girl slayer? Ugh, personally, i don't like that one."
He put the floral dress back, and held out a short leather dress
"Or is it 'I'm easy' Slayer?"
Spike grinned and put both dresses back.
Buffy sat on the bed rolling her eyes at some of his comments, laughing at others.
A couple of minutes passed, and Buffy grew impatient.
"Come on, Spike. I've got to go"
"So have I. Oh. Now you've never worn this. It's still got the price tag on it"
Buffy bent her body a little to see what he'd found, and he pulled out a red dress with black beading on the neckline.
He stood up and handed it to her.
"Here. Hold this."
Spike took two steps back, and looked at it.
Buffy held it up high to look at, and vaguely remembered buying it.
"Hold it like you'd wear it, pet."
Buffy held the dress obediently, and Spike eyed it critically. He noted it was quite short, and almost wanted to snatch it back, and not let her wear it. It was quite revealing.
"Yeah. Okay that's nice"
"Why have you got to go?"
Spike began rifling through her jewellery box for a red necklace
"Hmmm? Oh, I have a really important thing I have to be doing. "
He pulled out a red choker and held it to her.
Buffy waved her hand for him to turn round, so she could change, and the vampire obeyed, facing away from her.
She wiggled into the dress, and smoothed it out.
"Good choice, Spike."
Spike turned round and nodded his approval.
"You look great. Okay. I've really got to go. I'll see you later"
The vampire jumped out onto the tree outside her house, and Buffy looked out after him
"This was nice. I should play dress up with you more often, Spike"
Spike jumped to the bottom of the tree and winked at her.
Buffy watched him race down the street and looked at the clock.
Grabbing her purse, she got halfway to the door, before spotting Spike's discarded duster on the floor.
Hesitantly, she picked it up, put it on, and left her house for the Bronze.

------------------------------------------------

Willow waved wildly from in front of the stage and Buffy took her place with the rest of her friends.
Xander held Anya's hand protectively, and Tara looked like she didn't want to be there.
"Hey Buffy. You look great. How much money did you bring?"
Buffy laughed with the redhead and opened her purse.
"Oh, not much. You might have to lend me some, if a real hotty comes up."
Xander moved as a girl ran budged past him.
"Oh my god. I'll leave you girls here. I'm going to play pool with" Xander looked desperately around the club "Uh...Spike!"
Buffy tiptoed to see the vampire, and waved to him, pointing to his duster she was wearing.
Spike shrugged and set up a game of pool with Xander.
Buffy turned her attention to the stage, and the compere came over the sound system.
"Ladies. Before we start, a few rules."
The host listed of rules of bidding, and the first "lot" made his way to the front of the stage.
"This is Adam. He's 19, and..."
Buffy turned to Anya
"Adam. That's a real turn off considering what the last one looked like"
Anya laughed and whistled the boy on stage.

Xander looked up nervously from the game of pool.
"Was that Anya?"
Spike looked over the crowd, and grinned.
"Yeah..."

Guy after guy came on stage and posed, each one being bought by giggling groups of girls.
Buffy sighed dramatically.
"Oh shall I never find true love?"
Her three friends laughed at her mock upset, and Buffy turned to walk to the bar.
Xander strolled up to them, and took Anya's hand again.
Buffy looked around
"Where's Spike? I have his duster."
Xander shrugged
"He won the game, and left."
Buffy cocked her head
"Shame. Oh well, I'll see him tomorrow maybe."

"Ladies, we have a late entry."
Buffy nudged the group towards the door.
"Come on, he'll probably be just as dull as the rest of them"
"His name is...Spike?"
Buffy turned round and Spike strode onto the stage confidently, looking around the audience.
Spotting Buffy, he smiled and winked. She pushed her way to the stage, and looked around her for bidders.
Women all over the club were opening their handbags for more money to bid, leaving their previous purchases.
"10 dollars!"
Spike looked in the direction of the bidder.
"Thanks pet."
His English accent caused a mini riot. Women rushed to the stage and shouted out various amounts.
"20 dollars!"
Spike's cocky smile turned to shock and he caught Buffy's eye, and she smiled, almost sadly. She opened her purse and showed him the contents, or lack of.
He nodded and turned back to the women who were still bidding, between adoring gazes, at his blue eyes.
"50 dollars!"
Willow, Xander, Tara and Anya pushed towards Buffy.
"50 dollars! I don't see the attraction personally."
Buffy smiled at Willow
"That's cos you have a girlfriend."
Willow nodded and Buffy sat down to watch the women bidding for Spike.
"Look at it. They are like animals. Bidding for Spike."
Xander raised his eyebrows
"Is that a hint of jealousy, Buff?"

Spike moved back on the stage and waved his arms to get Buffy's attention.
She fiddled with her purse, narrowing her eyes at the women who had just bid 55 dollars for him.
Buffy looked up at the gesturing vampire and mouthed "What?".

Spike pointed to the duster, and then the pocket of his jeans.
Buffy stuck her hand in his duster pocket, and pulled out a fistful of money. Buffy's jaw dropped.
Putting it in a pile in front of Xander, she looked back at Spike, who had relaxed considerably.
"There's 300 dollars here, Buff. I say we run, and get ice creams. Big ice creams."
Buffy stood up, knocking her chair over.
"300 dollars!"
The whole club turned to look at her. All the bidding women glared at her, and all her friends looekd stunned. Buffy shouted out again.
"300 dollars. I'll take him."

------------------------------------
Buffy and Spike sat on the porch outside of her house.
"300 dollars. It was all the money in my pocket, pet. When I signalled for you to use some, I meant some, not all."
Buffy laughed and shrugged
"So, what do I do with you now?"
Spike shook his head
"Don't know. Never been property before. What do you want to do?"
The slayer looked around, and smiled.
"Can I have your duster again please? I'm cold"
Spike shrugged it off his shoulders and put it on hers.
"That's it?"
Buffy looked around and smiled wickedly. Her nervousness flew out of the window, and she decided to play the owner role to the fullest.
"No. Now we go indoors, and you cook for me."
Spike's smile faded and he shook his head
"No. I can't cook."
Buffy pouted
"Spikey... Please...."
Spike sighed and stood up.
"Fine."
He opened the door, and led her to the sofa.
"Sit" he ordered
Buffy frowned
"I'm meant to order you around."
Spike knelt down in front of her and took her shoes off, and lifted her legs up onto the sofa.
"Stay here."
Spike smiled back at the slayer and walked into the kitchen, where Joyce sat.
"Hello Joyce. Can I ask a favour?"
Joyce looked up from her book.
"Hello Spike. What can I help you with?"
Spike sat down.
"Buffy bought me, and now she wants me to cook for her. I can't cook."
Joyce looked confused
"She bought you? Why were you for sale?"
Spike laughed
"I wasn't. Well, I was. But I, well it was an auction. She bid for me. Now she owns me for a day"
Joyce laughed
"Okay. And you want me to cook you something?"
Spike nodded, and Joyce took a few tins out of the cupboards.

Ten minutes later, Joyce handed Spike a plate of pasta, and a cup of blood.
"Go be...owned."
Spike smiled at Buffy's mother.
"Thanks Joyce."

-----------------------------

"Foods up, Slayer."
Buffy sat up and Spike handed her the plate, and sat down with his mug.
"Oooh pasta. My favourite."
Buffy ate it quickly, and handed her plate back to Spike.
"Take this..."
Spike drank the last of his blood and glared at the Slayer.
"I've had half an hour of this, and it's annoying already"
He disappeared into the kitchen and Buffy lay down again, thinking of new orders for Spike.
He returned seconds later and sat down at the end of the sofa.
"Spike... My neck hurts. Give me a massage?"
The vampire moved quickly to the other side of the sofa, and made Buffy sit up.
His cool hands massaged her neck, and she groaned.
"Alright, Pet?"
"Yeah. Great. Can you keep this up for a whole day?"
Spike laughed
"Probably."
Buffy yawned
"I'm sleepy now. Carry me to bed."
The vampire raised an eyebrow, and lifted the Slayer up.
"I was joking, Spike"
Spike dropped her onto her bed, and turned away so she could get changed.
He turned around again, and pulled the covers up and dropped a kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight, Slayer."
He turned to leave, but Buffy's hand grabbed his T-shirt.
"Stay and talk to me."
Spike sighed and sat on the bed.
They talked until morning, and sunlight streamed through the windows, burning Spike's hand, and setting it alight.
"Owww Oh, bloody hell."
Buffy threw a glass of water on his hand, and he winced as she took it to look at it.
"It's not too bad."
Spike growled.
"Yeah well, it bloody hurts like hell"
Buffy giggled, and got up to close the curtain.
She padded back to the bed, and lay down.
"I can't believe we talked for so long."
Spike nodded
"Yeah. I'm not going to be able to get home now."
Buffy clapped her hands.
"Good. I own you, I'm skipping college today. We are going to have a Buffy own's Spike day."
Spike clapped sarcastically
"Oh joy..."

-------------------------------------------

Buffy stood at the door, trying to talk Spike into staying.
"Oh come on. We can talk again. Or patrol. Let's patrol"
Spike sighed
"I'm missing the dankness of my crypt. I'll see you later"
Buffy pouted
"I'm sure I own you for a few more hours."
Spike shook his head.
"No. Your time was up ten minutes ago."
Buffy kicked at the floor. She was still in her pyjamas and had been all day. They'd played twister, and watched films, and danced, and fought.
"Okay. Fine. Wouldn't want to hold you against your will. This has been great. Even if you did only stay cos I ordered you to"
She began to shut the door, but Spike stopped it with his foot, and grabbed her, kissing her hungrily. Buffy responded and moaned when he pulled away
"I will see you later"
The slayer grinned
"300 dollars is a bargain for you, Spike"

The End
