Title : Bad Girl
Rating : I'll say PG. Not great at ratings.
Disclaimer : No. Nothing. I own nothing. Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy do all the owning around this place.
Feedback : Yes please. Be kind. I'm fragile. :)
Description : Answer to SpikeLover's challenge. Set at the end of "Into the Woods". What might have happened if Buffy had caught Riley in time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Riley! Riley!"
Riley looked out of the window, and saw Buffy waving to him.
"Stop! Stop. I'm not going. I'm staying"

The commando jumped out of the helicopter and ran towards Buffy, arms open wide. The petite slayer ran and jumped into his arms.
"I'm sorry, Riley. Please don't go"
They watched the helicopter fly away, leaving Riley in Sunnydale, and in the arms of the Slayer.
"Too late." Riley turned back to Buffy
"I'm so sorry. It's not your fault. I'm..."

Buffy put her hand over his mouth and took his hand
"No more. Everyone's sorry. It's sorryness all round. No more sorry"
Riley smiled and shrugged
"Whatever."
Buffy began walking, pulling Riley with her.
"We're going to celebrate you not leaving now."
Riley followed like a puppy, as Buffy pulled him.
"Where are we going, Buffy?"
Buffy giggled
"Just wait and see. It's a secret"
Riley shrugged again, and carried on walking, oblivious to the figure following the both of them.

----------------------------------------

Buffy reached the door of a crypt in the cemetery, and Riley frowned
"Why are we here, Buffy?"
Buffy sighed
"Stop asking questions. We just are."
Buffy stood on tiptoes to kiss his cheek, and Riley gave in. He opened the door and stepped in.
"Fang Face isn't home."

Riley started towards the door, to leave but Buffy shut the door behind her and nodded
"I know. I got rid of him."
Riley tilted his head.
"O...kay, so why are we here?"
Buffy sat down on the tomb in the middle of the crypt, and swung her legs backwards and forwards.
"Well, I thought we'd be left alone here. Vamps know this is his place. They won't come here.
Nobody will come here."

Riley grew increasingly more confused.
"We could have gone to your house, or mine. I don't like the idea of making out in a crypt, Buffy"
Buffy raised her eyebrows
"Oh come on. I thought you of all people would enjoy it. You know, I'm not the one who got a
suck job from a skanky vampire, in a run down warehouse. This is much nicer than that. Look,
he's got a stereo, and oh look, candles. How romantic."

Buffy found a lighter on the floor and lit a few candles. Riley narrowed his eyes at her
"What are you playing at, Buffy? What's going on?"
Buffy lay back on the tomb and smiled seductively
"Nothing honey. Just come over here, so I can give you what you deserve."
Riley crossed his arms
"I'm not moving until you tell me what's going on?"

Buffy sat up, an expression of shock on her face.
"Oh. I see. Worried I wouldn't compare to that vamp, huh?"
Riley shook his head
"No. Not that. I just, uh, I don't like being here."
Buffy looked around
"It's fine. Bit dusty and dank, but it's nice." Buffy paused "For a vampire"
Riley shrugged
"Oh. Oh. Oh I know what this is. You don't like Spike, do you?"
Riley shook his head
"No, not really. He's trouble."

Buffy smiled
"I know. But he's okay. Once you get to know him"
Riley's eye's widened
"Buffy, are you on drugs? He's a vampire. You are a vampire slayer. Vampires aren't okay. They
kill"
Buffy glared at Riley
"Once again taking me back to suck jobs from vampire ho's"
Riley looked at the floor.
"Buffy, Spike has more than just a passing interest in you. He's obsessed. He's in love with you.
He'll get dangerous."

Buffy dismissed it with a wave of her hand
"Don't be silly. Now, come here. I want you, and you owe it to me to be a good boy, Riley and
give me what I want"
Riley hesitated and went to sit next to Buffy, who was grinning from ear to ear.
"I thought you weren't going to turn up. I was so relieved when I looked out of the window"
Buffy smiled and nodded
"I know."
Riley moved in for a kiss, and Buffy responded by moving her head towards his.
"Riley" Buffy whispered "Are you sorry for what you did?"
Riley moved his head back slightly and nodded

--------------------------------------------

"Good. But it's not enough."
Buffy lifted Riley by the shirt and threw him across the crypt.
"Not good enough, Riley."
Buffy swung her fist at the commando's face, connecting with his jaw.
A crack indicated that she'd broken it.
"Sorry doesn't cut it."

Buffy lifted Riley up and pushed him against the column in the centre of the room.
His back hit it, and he fell to the ground again.
"You think I'd come running back to you?"
Buffy slapped his face hard
"I'm not wrong. You're wrong. You're disgusting"

Buffy turned away from him and turned the stereo up loud, to hide the sounds of the fight.
When Buffy turned around, Riley was crawling to the door.
She let him go, and sat down on the tomb, swinging her legs.
Buffy listened and smiled, in satisfaction when she heard a groan.

"You looking for this, luv?"
Spike dropped Riley's battered body onto the crypt floor.
Buffy nodded and gave Spike a seering kiss, while Riley groaned in pain, clutching his arm, which
looked broken.
"You really hurt him, Slayer" Spike frowned, then smiled "I'm proud of you"
Buffy clapped her hands and bent down to pick Riley up.
She hauled him across the room and laid him in the corner.
Kneeling next to him, Buffy stroked his bruised face
"Poor Riley. You shouldn't have done that to me"

--------------------------------

Riley's eyes flickered open and he groaned again.
Spike turned the stereo down and walked over to Riley's position, and smiled into his face
"'Ello Commando."
Buffy stood up and put her arms around Spike's neck
"I told you before. You just aren't dark enough for the Slayer. So she came and found me, she
did."

Buffy smiled and kissed Spike's neck, and whispered into his ear. Spike looked down at her, mock
expression of shock on his face
"I'm not bloody well doing that with commando boy watching!"
Buffy whispered again
"Ah, I see. Sorry Riley. Time to go. I got a Slayer here that wants to do things I'd rather you
didn't see."

Spike lifted the soldier up, and carried him outside, sitting him on a nearby park bench. Spike
looked him over, and whistled
"Note to self: Don't ever cheat on Buffy"
Spike walked away, and back into the crypt as the rain fell on the bruised body of Riley, the
drops mingling with the blood running from a cut on his head.

---------------------------------

Buffy was looking through the window at the man she'd almost killed, a small smile playing at the
corners of her mouth.
She knew the feeling would go away and be replaced by intense guilt at some point, but right
now revenge was hers and it felt good.

Spike sat down on the sofa, and pulled out a bottle of whisky and began drinking.
Buffy turned to face him.
"Thanks for doing that." Buffy said awkwardly "I guess I'll be going now. I got my revenge"
Spike raised the bottle at her and grinned
"No problem. See ya."

Buffy shifted awkwardly and opened the door to leave.
"Do you want money? I mean, for helping me?"
Spike shook his head
"No. Don't worry about it. The spectacular kicking of Riley's arse was enough payment for me."
Buffy smiled, and shut the crypt door.
"No. You did me a huge favour. You deserve better payment than a ringside seat for that."
Spike shrugged
"Fine. I don't need money. What could you possibly offer?"

Buffy walked in front of Spike and sat on his lap, facing him.
"I can think of plenty of things to do with the rest of the night."
Spike looked up at her, and grinned
"Yeah?"
Buffy nodded and her eyes lit up
"Yeah."
Buffy took the bottle and threw it across the room, so it shattered, and crushed his mouth with
her own, slowly pushing him down into a laying position on the sofa.

---------------------------------

A knock on the door of the crypt woke Spike up, and he tried to sit up.
Realising he couldn't move because of a naked slayer laying on his arm, snuggled into his chest,
he panicked and woke Buffy up.
"Wake up. Buffy. Someone's here."

Buffy woke up and heard the knocking.
"Dammit" Buffy exclaimed as she untangled herself from the also naked vampire lying next to her.
Spike grabbed her clothes and threw them at her. He'd already put his jeans on and was
struggling with his t-shirt.
Buffy dressed, quickly, and sat back on the sofa, pretending she'd been dressed all the time.

"Come in!" Spike shouted at the visitor, and he jumped out of the sunlight when the door opened.
Willow and Giles stood at the door
"Spike. It's Buffy. She didn't go home last night. Have you see..."
Willow stopped talking and she looked over at Buffy, who had turned the TV on.
"Buffy. You're here. Giles, she's here. Why are you here?"

Buffy looked around the room and spotted a stake on the top of the TV.
"I uh, came to get my stake. Look Spike, I found it. I'll be going then."
Spike nodded, and Giles raised an eyebrow. Willow eyed Buffy suspiciously.
"Uh, uh Buffy, why didn't you just carve a new one?"
Buffy shrugged
"I like this one."

Giles rolled his eyes
"Very well. Uh, Riley was found on the park bench, beaten. Did you happen to see him? He had a
broken arm, and jaw, and two cuts to his head. He's in the hospital. I just thought you were
going to find him."
Spike turned away to hide the smile on his face, and Buffy stammered
"See him? I, uh, no, I, I didn't see him"
Giles turned to walk out of the door, and Willow followed. Buffy stayed behind.
"Buffy, aren't you coming?" Willow asked
The slayer nodded
"I, uh, just have to talk to Spike alone. I'll catch up, K?"

Willow nodded and pointed to Buffy's shirt
"You're shirt's buttoned lopsided"
The witch the pointed to the floor next to the TV
"And uh, you're bra is on the floor."
Buffy followed her finger and her eyes widened in shock. Spike grinned and Willow sighed

"Don't worry. I won't tell Giles."
The witch left and Buffy turned to Spike
"I'd better go."
Spike nodded
"Yeah. Maybe I'll see you uh, tonight."
Buffy smiled
"Count on it."
Buffy kissed him softly on the lips, and opened the crypt door.
"I'll keep this then, Buffy"

She turned round to see him dangling her bra from his finger.
Buffy laughed and ran to catch up with Willow and Giles.
Willow leaned backward and mouthed to Buffy
"You bad girl"

The End
